Who this covers
Corpus is the website chatbot you put on your own site. This policy covers people who create an account, and visitors who use a chat button that runs on Corpus. Visitors do not need an account.
Account
When you sign up we store:
- Your name
- Your email
- A password, stored only as a hash
- The website name you enter
Sign-in uses that email and password. We use the account to open your dashboard and to keep your chatbot separate from other accounts.
Files, notes, and pages
You choose what the chatbot may use: uploaded files, notes you paste, and website pages you tick and save. We store that text so the chatbot can answer from it. A page you leave unticked is not saved for answers. Replacing a file replaces what the next answer can use.
Visitor chats
When someone uses the button on your site, we store the messages in that chat so you can read them after you sign in. The browser keeps a random id so the same visit can continue a conversation. That id is not the visitor's name or email. Starting a new chat uses a new id.
To limit abuse, chat requests may also be counted against the visitor's IP address for a short window. Those counters expire.
Answers
Questions are sent with the materials you saved so a language model can write the reply. If you add your own model key in settings, we store that key encrypted and use it for your chatbot. If you do not, Corpus uses its own key. The reply is meant to come from your materials. When there is no solid match, the chatbot says so.
I'm interested
If you use I'm interested, we keep the name, email, website, and the note about what people keep asking, so we can reply. That form is separate from a visitor chat.
What we do not do
- We do not sell account details, files, or chat messages.
- We do not ask visitors to create an account to use the button.
- We do not mix one account's files into another account's chatbot.
Your choices
Sign in to replace files, remove pages, or change the words on the chatbot. To ask about your account or this policy, use I'm interested in the footer.
